Mr. Kessler launched FMSbonds, Inc.’s Land Secured Finance team in 2009 and built it into the No. 1 underwriter of land-secured, tax-exempt bonds in Florida and Texas.
Previously, Mr. Kessler worked in the Investment Banking Division of Banc of America Securities from 1997-2009. He held a variety of positions in the corporate and investment bank in the areas of real estate finance, including managing the Real Estate Secured Finance team in Florida and Texas.
Mr. Kessler has acted as the senior banker on more than 1,000 land secured financings totaling approximately $10 billion in par value.
Mr. Kessler, having led the restructuring of over $2 billion of bonds that defaulted as a result of the Great Recession, has deep relationships with the mutual funds and hedge funds that acquire CDD Bonds. He has also been instrumental in the structuring of new bonds post Great Recession, working with developers, attorneys and investors to create better bond structures.
Mr. Kessler holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan.
